GOOD OPERATORS FOLLOW THE DX CODE OF CONDUCT

LOUSY AND SELFISH OPERATORS DO NOT NEED TO FOLLOW IT BECAUSE THEY ARE MUCH BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE...

 

 

I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling 

THAT APPLIES ONLY TO NEW OPERATORS. I HAVE SO MUCH EXPERIANCE AND KNOWLEDGE THAT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO ME 

 

I will only call, if I can copy the DX station properly 

I DO NOT HAVE TO HEAR THE DX STATION, MOST IMPORTANT THAT HE CAN HEAR ME 

 

I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station’s call sign before calling 

I ALWAYS TRUST THE DX CLUSTER AND LIKE TO USE IT AS A MESSAGE BOARD FOR OTHERS TO SEE HOW MANY STATIONS I WORKED TODAY AND I LIKE TO SELFSPOT AS OFTEN AS I CAN SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND ME

 

I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot 

I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TUNE UP ON A DIFFERENT FREQUENCY, SO FOR ME IT IS OKAY TO USE ANY FREQUENCY THAT IS IN USE, I USUALLY AM VERY FAST IN TUNING UP RUNNING FULL POWER TO SAVE TIME 

 

I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call 

IT IS MORE EFFICIENT IF I CALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ONGOING QSO TO SAFE TIME 

 

I will always send my full call sign 

I NEVER USE MY FULL CALL SIGN BECAUSE IT IS UNPROFESSIONAL TO DO SO 

 

I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously 

IN MY EXPERIANCE IT IS BETTER TO CALL AT LEAST THREE TIMES IN ONE GO TO HAVE MORE CHANCE TO BE HEARD BEFORE ANYONE ELSE 

 

I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine 

I KEEP CALLING BECAUSE THE OTHERS HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I GOT THRU FIRST 

 

I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine 

THE DX OPERATOR DOES NOT KNOW WHICH STATION TO WORK FIRST, I AM SURE HE WANTS TO WORK ME 

 

I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine 

IF I LISTEN TO THE DX OPERATOR, I MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT TOO LONG SO I CALL HIM ANYWAY 

 

When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly 

I ALWAYS REPEAT MY CALL SIGN BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER STATIONS LISTENING ALSO NEED TO KNOW THAT IT IS ME 

 

I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact 

THE DX OPERATOR SHOULD BE MORE THANKFUL  

 

I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect 

I NEED NO RESPECT BECAUSE MY SIGNAL IS ALWAYS THE STRONGEST AND I CANNOT LET ANYONE ELSE WORK THE DX BEFORE I HAVE WORKED IT 

 

MY COMMENT ABOVE TO THE DX CODE OF CONDUCT IS VERY FUNNY TO READ, HOWEVER IT IS THE HARD REALITY TO ABOUT 50% OF THE OPERATORS I HEAR ON THE BANDS!
